FAPESP-NSF Joint Workshop, Sao Carlos, Brasil Sep 2011

Ian traveled to Sao Carlos, Brasil in September 2011 to participate in a FAPESP-NSF Dimensions of Biodiversity joint workshop. After flying into Sao Paolo airport, he met up with several other scientists and was driven to Sao Carlos, a city about 4 hours by road from the airport. There, he spent 3 days discussing research related to biodiversity, planning for the joint FAPESP-NSF program, before returning to Sao Paolo. There, participants were treated to an amazing lunch and a behind-the-scenes visit to the Sao Paolo State Natural History Museum, before flying out that evening. First time in Brasil, such an awesome place!
