In December 2025, Ian traveled to St Thomas USVI to continue work with Mike Henson (NIU) and Marilyn Brandt (UVI) on the time series project. This time, we also surveyed ophiuroids as well! And we also performed more experiments aimed at understanding DaScPc re-emergence from coral reserviors. We also attempted to validate a novel field detection protocol for DaScPc using LAMP and PCR (using a bento box!). Our efforts yielded some intriguing results, indicating that the approach was not that sensitive, but also that PCR was possible in the field!
